Overview:
Bargas is seeking energetic and experienced paleontologists with a minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience identifying and documenting paleontological resources, and/or experience performing paleontological field surveys, fossil salvage, and paleontological construction monitoring. Paleontological mitigation experience in California is preferred.

As a Paleontologist, you will:
• Join a dynamic team conducting field surveys.
• Perform construction monitoring and prepare daily logs.
• Record and salvage paleontological resources.
• Assist with paleontological report sections.
• Participate in monthly meetings to help shape the new paleontological program at Bargas, discuss ongoing projects, paleontological mitigation, and regulations, and provide feedback on procedures.

As a Paleontologist, you are:
• Proficient in recognizing and documenting various types of fossils and performing field tasks.
• Experienced in describing and interpreting sediments and stratigraphy in the field.
• Skilled with modern data collection tools such as Survey123, Collector/Field Maps app, or similar tablet-based data collection technology.
• Enthusiastic about traveling for projects across beautiful landscapes.
• Capable of managing paleontological data and preparing fossil locality forms and technical reports.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 applications and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, demonstrating integrity, and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
• Ready to take ownership of tasks from start to finish, ensuring completion.
