We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pacific Marine Science Coordinator to join our team in Alaska. As a key member of our Pacific team, you will play a critical role in advancing our ocean conservation goals in the region. The successful candidate will have a strong background in marine science, policy, and conservation, with experience working in Alaska ocean issues, fisheries, and policy. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing regional strategies that support Oceana campaigns, providing scientific foundation for Oceana reports and external communications, building sustainable relationships and coalitions with traditional and non-traditional organizations, serving as an Oceana spokesperson with the press, academic institutions, funders, and others, and attending state and federal public meetings, legislative hearings, and relevant conferences or workshops. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in biology, marine biology, fisheries, environmental policy, or related field from a major accredited 4-year university, direct experience with project management, environmental conservation, and advocacy, particularly in Alaska ocean issues, marine science, fisheries, and policy, and strong understanding of ocean conservation principles, policies, and practices.
