Ottawa (East)- 310T Licensed Technician (Afternoon Shift)

Miller Waste System is seeking a 310T Licensed Technician for their Ottawa (East) location. This full-time, permanent position involves servicing and repairing company vehicles, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining shop cleanliness. The technician must be mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. The pay ranges from CA$44.51 to CA$47.51 per hour, including a shift premium.
310T TRUCK & COACH LICENSED TECHNICIAN

Location: 1815 Bantree St, Ottawa, Ontario

Position Type: Full-time- Permanent- Afternoon Shift

Reporting: Shop Foreperson

Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 12:00am

Rate: $44.51 plus $3.00 shift premium per hour ($47.51 base rate/h)

We are looking for a highly capable 310T Truck & Coach Licensed Technician to be located out of our Ottawa (East) Shop, in Ottawa, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

In the position of 310T Truck & Coach Technician, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
• The service and repair of all Company vehicles to ministry standards and Miller Waste standards.
• Repair and/or assist with repairs on waste vehicles and trucks, including hydraulics and electrical as well as shop maintenance.
• Conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.
• Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.
• Will also be required to clean the shop, paint rims, and generally maintain the appearance of the equipment.
• Conduct on-road service calls, as required.

Requirements:
• Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong work ethic.
• Should possess a strong desire to learn and an ability to apply that knowledge during their daily duties.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key as well as working in a team environment.
• The applicant will be required to enroll in, and successfully complete(d), the 310T Truck & Coach Apprenticeship program.
• You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility is also required as this position occasionally requires travel, early starts, late finishes and, on rare occasions, weekend work.
