Organizational Change Manager

Des Moines, Iowa (Hybrid)

The Pella Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Organizational Change Manager to join our team.

As the Organizational Change Manager, you will have diverse responsibilities that include leading or consulting on change management initiatives across the organization. Leading and coaching Change Managers, consultants, and internally trained practitioners to support change management initiatives is imperative in this role. Pella is seeking an Organizational Change Manager that will passionately bring out the best in others through strategic coaching while inspiring other to innovate and learn continuously. In this role you will work collaboratively with the Sr. Change Management Manager, Human Resources, Project Managers, and executive sponsors to deliver enterprise change efforts, maximizing adoption, minimizing disruption and resistance, and enabling a change-ready, prepared, and adaptive workforce.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
• Planning, leading, and executing organizational change management activities, including developing the case for change, aligning stakeholders, assessing impacts, and creating resistance management action plans.
• Leading strategic change initiatives and programs for the enterprise.
• Identifying project risks and creating mitigation strategies.
• Applying change management methodologies not limited to communication planning, organizational readiness assessment, training plans, and stakeholder analyses.
• Overseeing or monitoring the execution to ensure adoption and minimal disruption of normal business operations.
• Defining and measuring success metrics, tracking progress, reporting, and managing issues/risks, adapting as needed.
• Contributing to the development and execution of continuous improvement, and roll-out of change methodologies, tools, and templates at an enterprise level.
• Creating supporting documentation related to adoption, recognition, communication, and more.
• Integrating change management work into broader plans (e.g., Project Management and Communication Plans).
• Partnering with Human Resources, Project Management, communications, culture, and training to enable project success and change adoption.

Soft skills are crucial for an Organizational Change Manager to effectively lead and support organizational transitions.

The ideal candidate should possess all or most of these:
• Communication: Clearly and effectively conveying information, listening actively, and addressing concerns to ensure everyone is on the same page.
• Empathy: Understanding and addressing the emotions and perspectives of those affected by the change, which helps in building trust and reducing resistance.
• Adaptability: Being flexible and open to adjusting strategies and pace as needed to respond to changing circumstances and feedback.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying issues that arise during the change process and developing creative solutions to overcome them.
• Conflict Resolution: Managing and resolving conflicts that may occur during the transition to maintain a positive and productive environment.
• Leadership: Inspiring and motivating others, leading by example, and fostering a sense of ownership and accountability among team members.
• Collaboration: Working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
• Emotional Intelligence: Recognizing and managing one’s own emotions and the emotions of others to navigate the complexities of change.
• Influence and Persuasion: Convincing others to support and engage with the change initiatives through logical reasoning and emotional appeal.
• Resilience: Maintaining a positive attitude and perseverance in the face of challenges and setbacks.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of project change management experience as a proven change leader demonstrating skills, abilities, and experience working on large-scale change initiatives.
• PROSCI Change Management Certification, ACMP Certification, or formal training are a plus.
• Knowledgeable of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Ability to travel varies, as needed, dependent on project requirements.
