ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, people-oriented and can-do attitude Operations Supervisor / Team Leader, based at our Cairns Depot, to lead our team of waste collection professionals and effectively manage daily operational goals.

You are responsible for the early morning management of the driver team and attending to any unplanned absences, breakdowns and resourcing as-needed.

The role is a mix of hands-on and office-based with consistent engagement of our driving teams to achieve the desired outcomes on safety, productivity, process, compliance mentoring and training.

You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshop.

We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist daily with operations start of day commencement
• Regular driving – Side-Lift / Front Lift / Rear Load etc
• Be a mentor, help with training of our driver team.
• Comply with laws, regulations and requirements including OH&S
• Achieve and uphold a high level of customer service within the business
• Establish and manage relations with customers, team members and suppliers
• Strive for improvement in Operations whilst upholding a high level of safety at all times

ABOUT YOU
• HR license & driving experience = essential
• Experience in transport, logistics or service industry
• Existing experience in side life, front lift, rear lift, hook lift and/or liquid tanker operations - highly regarded
• Waste industry driving experience - preferred
• Experience with working in a team environment, effective communication skills
• You are results orientated
• Motivate staff effectively and consistently – maintain positive work culture
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite
• Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical / drug and alcohol screen
