Job Description

Federation University Australia is seeking an Operations Manager for Corrections Education in Ballarat VIC. This full-time role involves leading staff in delivering teaching programs at Barwon Southwest and Grampians Region prisons. Responsibilities include managing teaching resources, student administration, and ensuring quality education outcomes. About the role

You will be responsible for providing leadership and management of activities of a designated group of permanent and casual staff delivering teaching programs and services within the Centre. You will have primary accountability for delivery of education quality, positive student and customer outcomes, building a high performing and accountable team, and achievement of financial targets within the contract.

You will:
• manage teaching programs and resources within Corrections Education, including staff selection and resource allocation including teaching plans and workloads;
• lead and manage the processes related to student administration, documentation and student results, graduation and all student records ensuring they are in line with the Corrections Victoria contract and University policies and procedures; and
• manage the overarching planning, scheduling, development, implementation and delivery of programs.

About you

You will use your initiative and advanced problem-solving skills to achieve results, managing competing priorities in a complex operating environment, influencing and negotiating to deliver positive outcomes focusing on customer service and stakeholder responsiveness.

You will have demonstrated:
• experience in leading the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, customised, high quality vocational education and training;
• strong technical experience of JETS, CV IT Systems, and Prisoner Movement Systems, including system administration and data management;
• experience in analysing complex issues, identifying risks, and implementing effective solutions to achieve successful outcomes;
• knowledge and experience of data security, privacy regulations, and IT governance within a high-security or sensitive operational environment; and
• experience in managing and monitoring budgets and achieving commercial targets.
