About the position

The Operations Labor position at SA Recycling LLC involves a variety of tasks centered around the handling and processing of scrap metal in a yard environment. Employees will be responsible for unloading pallets, boxes, and bundles, as well as sorting materials through various physical activities such as pushing, pulling, picking, lifting, carrying, and filling up hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts. The role requires unpacking boxes using box cutters and separating different types of packaging materials, including plastics, zip ties, and blister packs. Additionally, employees will disassemble small equipment, cut wires, torque pipe fittings, and remove bolts from automobile and appliance parts. The position also includes operating recycling equipment for processing metal products, such as metal shears, band saws, and wire strippers. Employees will direct the traffic of yard vehicles and perform light facility maintenance tasks, which may involve painting, scraping, and moving furniture and equipment. Maintenance responsibilities include selecting and using tools properly, assisting in machinery repair, and ensuring effective housekeeping practices are followed to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, and employees are expected to organize materials efficiently and dispose of waste materials appropriately. Responsibilities
• Unloading pallets, boxes, and bundles.

• Material handling and sorting, including pushing, pulling, picking, lifting, carrying, and filling up hoppers, boxes, and conveyor belts.

• Unpacking boxes using box cutters and separating various packaging materials.

• Disassembling small equipment and removing parts such as bolts and automobile components.

• Operating recycling equipment for processing metal products, including metal shears and band saws.

• Directing traffic of yard vehicles within the yard.

• Performing light facility maintenance tasks such as painting and moving equipment.

• Selecting and using tools properly for maintenance and repair tasks.

• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area.

• Disposing of waste materials appropriately and ensuring effective housekeeping practices.

Requirements
• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
