Job Description

Airswift is seeking an Operations Geologist in Brisbane, QLD, for a 12-month full-time contract starting May 5, 2025. The role involves supporting subsurface well delivery, coordinating geological data acquisition, and liaising between field and office teams. Candidates should have a strong background in Wellsite or Operations Geology, with experience in both unconventional and conventional projects. On-call availability and participation in rotational rosters are required.

About The Role

An opportunity has become available for a skilled Operations Geologist to support subsurface well delivery activities across multiple drilling programs. Based in Brisbane, this role is responsible for the coordination and supervision of geophysical and geological data acquisition, acting as a key liaison between field operations and the office-based subsurface team.

The successful candidate will contribute to exploration, appraisal, and development drilling across both unconventional and conventional well projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, operational awareness, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide well delivery and subsurface expertise, including remote real-time monitoring and interpretation of wellsite data, selection of ECP set depth, calling total depth, supervision of wireline logging operations, well data acquisition and data processing for swell packer placement.
• Delivering internal and regulatory reporting pre- and post- well delivery (e.g. Well Proposals, NOI, NOC & Well Completion Reports)
• Regular communication, collaboration and liaising with field-based team e.g. DSVs/OCRs.
• Support for logging and data acquisition services contracts, including KPIs and Business Performance Reviews and day-to-day management of contractor service requirements (e.g. logging crews and equipment).
• Responsible for supporting Emergency

Work Schedule
• Office hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Rostered coverage required for weekends and public holidays.
• On-call availability expected during rostered periods.

• Subsurface well delivery team
• Operations and wellsite geologists
• Drilling and completions teams
• Reservoir engineering, HSSE, and groundwater groups

External Stakeholders
• Logging and testing service providers
• Laboratory and formation evaluation consultants
• Contractors, suppliers, and community representatives

Candidate Requirements
• Strong background in Wellsite or Operations Geology, with experience in both unconventional and conventional projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate geological operations in active drilling environments.
• Sound knowledge of geophysical tools, data acquisition, and subsurface workflows.
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to participate in rotational rosters and respond to out-of-hours operational needs.
• CSG experience would be advantageous
