APA Group is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Technician - Electrical for a full-time, 12-month position in Port Hedland, WA. The role involves maintaining Gas Turbine equipment, responding to power system issues, and ensuring safety standards. Candidates should have a WA Electrical licence and strong problem-solving skills. We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Operations and Maintenance Technician – Electrical to join us in our Operations and Maintenance team in Port Hedland on a full time max term basis for 12 months.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will play a key role in performing ongoing operations and maintenance of Gas Turbine equipment and associated balance of plant, plus the 35 Mw BESS and 45 MW solar farm.
Key Responsibilities
• Performing routine maintenance
• Responding to Gas Turbine and Power System issues
• Maintaining the plant equipment to the correct standards
• Identifying and rectifying potential safety hazards
• Contractor and outage management and coordination
Your background
• Ability to perform a wide range electrical task
• Ability to interpret data and trends from SCADA
• Knowledge of gas system and electrical safety standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• WA Electrical licence
• Excellent safety focus and team player under the background section
About The Team
The Port Hedland Power Station Consists of 5 Gas Turbines, a 35 MW Battery Storage System and a 45 MW Solar Farm. The Site team operates and maintains the assets with a focus on Safety, reliability and meeting our customers’ needs
