Paper Transport is seeking an Onsite Fleet Manager in Paulsboro, NJ, responsible for managing a small fleet of drivers, planning routes, ensuring safety, and maintaining customer relationships. The role requires a Class A CDL and emphasizes leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Candidates should have transportation experience and be motivated self-starters. Location: Paulsboro, New Jersey




This role will be solely responsible for the both the planning and driver manager accountabilities for a small fleet. You must be a motivated self-starter and willing to take on a challenge. You will be expected to plan drivers and freight while meeting customer expectations as well as manage driver engagement, retention, and overall scorecard performance. You will support our values of Safety and What Drives You.


Class A CDL is required to fill in for open shifts.


What Are Your Key Responsibilities?



Responsible for direct supervision of a group of drivers that work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift routes, and service to ensure the highest quality of customer service and safety.
Build strong relationships with your driver team through integrity and accountability.
Maintain high asset utilization to ensure profitability.
Manage freight within the required HOS regulations and DOT regulations.
Approve driver pay and driver bill of lading (BOL) submission.
Be decisive, forward thinking, and provide solutions to driver needs and issues.
Coach your driver team to success and safety compliance.
Prepare and maintain driver schedule ensuring the correct number of drivers are on hand while monitoring hours worked.
Build and maintain strong connection with customer.

Education and Experience Requirements:


High School Diploma / GED required
Valid Class A CDL License
Two or more years of transportation experience preferred
Leadership experience is preferred
Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast- paced team atmosphere
Proficient in Microsoft products – Outlook, Excel, Word
Ability to navigate through multiple computer systems
