Job Description

The Crown Estate is seeking an Offshore Wind Programmes Director - Leasing in London to lead and shape leasing programmes for the Offshore Wind sector, aiming to deliver 20-30GW by 2030. The role involves strategic direction, project management, and risk mitigation, contributing to the Marine strategy. Candidates should have strong leadership and project management experience, knowledge of UK energy policy, and excellent communication skills. Purpose of Role:

The Offshore Wind Programmes Director Leasing leads and strategically shapes our portfolio of leasing programmes for the Offshore Wind sector, with the immediate aim to bring to market 20-30GW of Offshore Wind by 2030. The role purpose is to set up, lead and oversee leasing programme delivery, setting the strategic direction and driving leasing design and timely delivery in line with The Crown Estate purpose and strategic objectives, in order to meet the UKs ambitious targets for decarbonization.

By driving excellence in programme and project management, risk management and mitigation the role will be a key part of the Offshore Wind Leadership Team and pivotal to deliver a key part of the Marine strategy. This includes the articulation of a leasing strategy and tender design parameters in order to shape an attractive, investable market preposition, a pathway for accelerated deployment through upfront de-risking, whilst meeting our ambitions for nature recovery and the creation of social value and ultimately, prosperity for the nation.

Most important skills based requirements:
• Previous strategic leadership and management experience
• Extensive experience in project and programme management, including a track record of leading and successfully delivering complex programmes and projects in an energy or major infrastructure context
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, risk assessment, and reporting
• Knowledge of UK energy policy and relevant frameworks as well as industry knowledge are desirable
• Proficiency in commercial management and contract management, compliance, health and safety regulations, and sustainability practices
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and reporting
