Employee will be assigned to the Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) Hydrologic Protection Unit (HPU) and 401 Certification Unit (401) of the Logan regional office.

Duties include:
• Receive and track all National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and 401 application submittals for the regional office.
• Enter application information into the Environmental Resource Information System (ERIS) and notify the HPU Environmental Resource Associate (ERA).
• Monitor and track resubmittals of applications and inspector reviews in ERIS.
• Prepare draft NPDES permits and distribute them to headquarters, the applicant company, and consultants.
• Review and track final permit approvals.
• Ensure application fees are receipted and processed daily.
• Handle all incoming and outgoing mail for the office.
• Create and distribute application tracking reports as needed.
• Proofread advertisements and certificates of publication; notify the application team leader of any errors.
• Assist the ERA with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request processing for the regional DMR/HPU office.
• Answer phone calls and provide support as required.
• Perform additional clerical duties as needed, including ERA responsibilities during absences.

Notes:
• Regular attendance is an essential part of this position.

• All new employees that are involved with Specific DEP programs subject to the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMRCA) of 1977 must file prior to final appointment and annually thereafter, a Statement of Employment and Financial Interest (OSM 23).

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in routine office work.

Substitution: College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.
