Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a full-time Research & Development Technician for its Nuclear Science and Technology department in Idaho Falls, ID. The role involves overseeing laboratory operations, ensuring safety compliance, providing research support, and maintaining equipment. The technician will work a 4x10 schedule with Fridays off, and responsibilities include documentation and possibly participating in equipment design.
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Research & Development Technician to work in our Nuclear Science and Technology (NS&T) department supporting Fusion Research. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our ATR facility with every Friday off. Responsibilities Include: - Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring work is performed safely, in accordance with laboratory policies, standards and procedures. - Perform assessments/audits to ensure compliance to laboratory requirements. - May provide research support by procurement, assembly, set-up, troubleshooting and operation of research equipment and experiments. - Direct the operation and maintenance of bench, pilot, and full-scale research equipment designed to process and handle materials through chemical, mechanical, and thermal conditions. - Directly guide the implementation of new concepts and techniques with respect to program assets and new capabilities. - Provide research support by procurement, assembly, set-up, troubleshooting and operation of research equipment and experiments. - Maintain records and logs of work activities and procedures as directed. Compile and complete documentation of development and/or test processes. - May participate in equipment and/or test design. - Depending on work assignment, may require training and understanding in areas such as lock out/tag out (LO/TO), respirator, confined spaces, hoisting and rigging, forklift and other equipment operation, intermediate and advanced material handling. - Other duties as assigned.
