Job Description
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is hiring a Natural Resources Worker to maintain and preserve park grounds and facilities at Headlands Beach and Geneva State Parks. This temporary, on-site role involves grounds maintenance, cleaning, and assisting with projects in outdoor settings. Candidates should have experience with landscaping and tools, physical stamina, and effective communication skills. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required.

Role Description
The Natural Resources Worker will assist with maintaining and preserving park grounds and facilities at Headlands Beach and Geneva State Parks. Responsibilities include performing grounds maintenance, cleaning facilities, clearing trails, assisting with various projects, and supporting staff in daily operations. The role requires the ability to operate tools and equipment safely. This is a temporary, on-site position with hands-on outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
• Knowledge and experience with grounds maintenance, including mowing, landscaping, and facility cleaning
• Ability to operate tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and hand tools
• Basic understanding of natural resource conservation and environmental stewardship
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Previous experience in outdoor maintenance or natural resources management is a plus
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
