Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Farm operative. This role involves a variety of tasks on the farm, including crop care, harvesting, packing, and ensuring compliance with Soil Association standards. You will also assist with administrative duties such as record-keeping, as well as contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the farm and warehouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Farm Tasks:
• Harvest crops at the appropriate time and handle them carefully to minimize damage.
• Care for crops through regular monitoring and removal of contamination and pest control.
• Slice, pack, and prepare crops for distribution according to company standards and regulations.
• Adhere to all Soil Association certification requirements to maintain organic status including essential forms and procedures.
• Administrative Duties:
• Assist with record-keeping and paperwork, ensuring that all records are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with legal and industry standards.
• Maintenance and Upkeep:
• Ensure the warehouse and farm are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
• Assist with the general upkeep of farm equipment, tools, and machinery.
• General Warehouse Duties:
• Help with the organization and management of stock in the warehouse.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and storing goods in an orderly manner.
• From time to time you may be required to pick and pack as part of the UFI fulfillment centre operation.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Previous experience in farming or warehouse work is preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of organic farming practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and work in indoor conditions.
• A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Exceptional personal hygiene is important for a food handling business.
• Training will be given.

Working Conditions:
• This role may require working in a climate-controlled and non-climate controlled indoor environment, typically consistent with farming or warehouse operations.
• Physical activity required and including handling deliveries.
• Flexible working hours may be required to accommodate delivery schedules and farm needs. This could include irregular working days.
• You may occasionally be asked to be on call for emergency alarms and respond to the farm’s needs.
