Job Description
NES Fircroft is seeking two Mooring and Installation Engineers for Chevron's JIC Project in Perth, Australia, on a 2-year contract. Responsibilities include managing Field Control Station aspects, coordinating technical interfaces, reviewing engineering documents, and supporting offshore activities. Candidates should have project management experience, technical skills in mooring installation, and relevant engineering qualifications. The role requires domestic and international travel and will transition to offshore work.
NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for two Mooring and Installation Engineers to join our valued client, Chevron, in their Perth Office. These positions are on the JIC Project and offered on a 2 year contract.
Description:
Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Moorings & Installation Engineer to join the Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) Team. Reporting to the Subsea Integration (SI) Lead, this role will be based in Perth.
Key Responsibilities
The Moorings & Installation Engineer will support the Senior FCS Subsea Engineer, and the SI Lead in the management of the Field Control Station (FCS) aspects of the Offshore Installation Contract (OIC), including the following responsibilities:
- Coordinate technical interfaces with the OIC team, third parties and other J-IC delivery teams.
- Coordinate actions and mitigation plans to address OIC and other J-IC delivery team(s) risks.
- Attend and support J-IC project risk, opportunity and assurance workshops.
- Coordinate the technical input into the contract management of change system.
- Review Transport and Installation (T&I) engineering, including sea fastening and deployment analysis .
- Assist the Senior Subsea Engineer (FCS) and SI Lead with the management of J-IC project documentation.
- Assist the OIC team with the coordination of marine warranty reviews and approvals for OIC T&I scopes.
- Providing site support for the testing and loadout of the FCS Moorings, umbilical pull in system on the FCS and ancillary equipment.
- Assist and support the SI Lead with the subsea installation engineering of the other OIC work packages, if required.
- Review FCS detailed design documents and coordinate the resolution of any engineering issues prior to readiness reviews for offshore mobilisation, or during the offshore campaign.
- Ensure OIC adheres to Company technical requirements. Identify changes and support the SI Lead to effectively manage the change.
- Represent the OIC delivery team at the fabrication yards/facilities as required.
- Overseeing OIC engineering, transport and installation of the mooring pre-installation and interface with other J-IC delivery teams to coordinate transport and installation input.
- Overseeing OIC engineering, transport, installation, hook up & tensioning scope and interface with other J-IC delivery teams to coordinate transport and installation inputs.
This role will require international and/or domestic business travel to support the OIC team through engineering, SITs, load out, transport, and installation work phases.
This role will transition to an offshore role to support the execution of the work.
Key Skills and Experience required
Project Management Experience
- Experience with contract execution and a clear understanding of change control systems, interface and risk management systems are required.
- Demonstrated good interface management skills, a drive to learn, understand and share
- Demonstrated good understanding of the Chevron Project Management System
Technical Skills
- Previous mooring installation, hook-up and tensioning and subsea construction experience in an Oil and Gas Operator environment on Major Capital Projects is preferred.
- Civil/marine/Structural / Mechanical Engineering degree qualification preferred.
- Experience in OIC contract execution is required.
- Previous Installation experience of permanent mooring systems is required.
- Previous experience with deep water [ 800msw+] mooring systems with polymer synthetic rope and riser systems is preferred.
