VDC will become one of the leading biodiesel producer in North America with an annual capacity of approx. 150,000 tons of biodiesel and 18,000 tons of crude glycerin. Position Purpose:

The Millwright will report to the Maintenance Manager. As a Millwright, you are responsible for maintaining the equipment in the facility, in all areas of the facility including but not limited to, the production floor, warehouse, terminal, chemical unloading and the office area. This individual is to perform a variety of low-medium skilled maintenance, both indoors and outdoors in possible inclement weather. The main responsibility will be to provide technical support and assistance to the operations and management team whenever required. He/she will strive for continuous improvement of the production process. The individual will work closely with operations, quality, as well as the health and safety department to collaboratively make continual improvements in day to day operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Process flow understanding and able to read P&ID’s.
• Preventative maintenance tasks such as oiling, greasing, vibration analysis, and laser alignment.
• Support and communicate with mechanical vendors.
• Research equipment OEM maintenance recommendations and create PM’s.
• Using a CMMS, create task lists, create PM schedule for eMAint program system.
• Communicates and works together with maintenance staff, vendors, operations, and leaders.
• Operating hoisting and lifting devices.
• Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities.
• Field work includes rebuilding pumps, replacing mechanical seals, changing pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
• Working at heights, inside and outside in inclement weather, confined spaces.
• Working around chemicals, high pressure steam, hot process liquid, high pressure air and Nitrogen.
• Other duties as assigned, including facility maintenance.

Qualifications:
• Licensed Millwright or Industrial Mechanic Mechanical maintenance experience is necessary
• Strong understanding of both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
• Experience working with steam systems including steam traps and boiler components
• Experience working with alignments and pump seal replacements
• Knowledge and experience working with inventory and CMMS programs is an asset
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs
• Preventative maintenance experience
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Must be able to make informed decisions while working both independently and as part of a team
• Strong understanding and consciousness of safe work practices
