EnSafe is seeking a Mid-Level Human Health Risk Assessor in Houston, TX, to support risk assessments for government and industrial clients. About the position

The Mid-Level Human Health Risk Assessor position at EnSafe involves supporting risk assessments for government and industrial clients, particularly under the Navy CLEAN contract. The role requires collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to develop site-specific human health risk assessments, utilizing various environmental and toxicological methodologies. The position offers a hybrid work model and is open to both full-time and part-time candidates.

Responsibilities
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to formulate conceptual site models and identify appropriate receptors for evaluation to site-specific human health risk assessments.

• Provide input into the selection of appropriate site-specific exposure parameters.
,
• Calculate carcinogenic risk and non-carcinogenic hazard in accordance with USEPA or state-specific protocols.
,
• Familiarity with USEPA lead models and vapor intrusion evaluations.
,
• Calculate population statistics of interest using ProUCL software.
,
• Under the guidance of a senior risk assessor, prepare report text addressing risk assessment approach, findings, uncertainties, and recommendations.

• Support internal clients such as project managers and team members.

Requirements
• Bachelor's or master's degree in toxicology, public health, biology, or related scientific field.

• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an environmental consulting or government regulatory environment.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
,
• Thorough understanding of USEPA Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS) and supporting guidance.
,
• Understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory frameworks.
,
• Demonstrated quantitative experience calculating human health risk and hazard in accordance with RAGS.
,
• Understanding of the basis for selection of exposure assumptions.
,
• Ability to clearly interpret and explain risk assessment tables in a technical report.
,
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively.
,
• Ability to work effectively with diverse personalities, demonstrating professionalism and resourcefulness.

• Knowledge of emerging contaminants including PFAS toxicity and assessment.
