Description

The Environmental Restoration Ecologist / Scientist will be an integral part of our Environmental Hydrology and Design team. This role encompasses planning, designing, mitigating, and restoring projects across various ecosystems, including communities, infrastructure systems, and wildlands. You will work in our Northern California offices located in Oakland, San Francisco, Petaluma, Sacramento, or San Jose. The ideal candidate will contribute to habitat restoration and multi-benefit flood management, applying the latest scientific methods to develop ecological and engineering solutions.

Skills
• Technical expertise in restoration ecology
• Familiarity with California’s native habitats, particularly wetlands and riparian zones
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex information
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
• Experience in biological field studies and data collection

Responsibilities
• Select, apply, and adapt standard techniques for restoration design projects
• Serve as a primary author of environmental documents and technical memoranda
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop habitat restoration designs
• Conduct and lead biological field studies, including flora and fauna surveys
• Oversee project tasks, schedules, logistics, and deliverables as Deputy Project Manager or Project Manager

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related ecological field; Master’s preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in environmental ecology
• Proven ability to produce clear and concise environmental documentation
• Experience developing scopes of work, schedules, and budgets
