Job OverviewA law firm seeks a mid-level associate attorney to join its Environment, Energy & Resources practice group in Boise, ID. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital infrastructure and energy transition, focusing on power strategies and regulatory frameworks.

DutiesNegotiate power purchase agreements and energy service agreements for developers, utilities, and corporate buyers.Advise on electric market design issues within RTOs/ISOs, including capacity market mechanisms and interconnection policies.Represent clients in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.Counsel clients on energy policy, renewable energy integration, and carbon-free energy procurement strategies.Requirements3-6 years of experience in energy law, with regulatory and transactional experience preferred.Familiarity with the Federal Power Act and power market mechanics.Ability to draft bespoke energy contracts.Must be admitted to practice or eligible to waive in to the jurisdiction of the office location.EducationJD from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.SkillsStrong negotiation and drafting skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and client management skills.BenefitsAnnual discretionary bonus.401(k) plan.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Personal medical and parental leave.Up to ten paid holidays.Family care benefits.
