Direct Counsel is seeking a mid to senior-level finance associate to join a prestigious firm’s Project & Energy group, with a focus on energy transition financing matters. This position is open to multiple office locations across the U.S., offering the opportunity to work on high-profile and innovative financing deals in the energy transition space.

Key Responsibilities:
• Handle transactions related to the financing and mergers & acquisitions of energy transition projects and companies.
• Provide legal counsel on tax equity and other renewable energy tax credit monetization matters.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders on complex financial transactions in the energy sector.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, agreements, and transaction-related materials.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction of application.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
• Strong background in project finance, M&A, tax equity, and renewable energy tax credit structures.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:
• Hybrid work model with regular in-office presence and some flexibility for remote work.
• Competitive salary range of $310,000 - $435,000 per year, dependent on location and experience.
