Job Summary:
The Systems Engineer provides engineering services for the design and implementation of Microgrid Applications, focusing on Hybrid/Solar/Renewable Energy Applications. Responsibilities include control system engineering for low and medium voltage distributed energy resources (DERs), based on customer or internal plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of experience in power distribution engineering.
• Strong understanding of power generation, distribution, and renewable energy systems.
• Experience with digital multifunction relays, PLC programming, and automation software.
• Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus and DNP

• Ability to travel up to 15%.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Review construction drawings and coordinate with teams to prevent delays.
• Participate in project meetings and review product BOMs.
• Develop power and control schemes, including load shedding and microgrid operations.
• Review electrical diagrams for LV, MV, and DC systems.
• Ensure proper controls, metering, and monitoring are in place.
• Create programming files for control devices and coordinate testing and troubleshooting.
• Support system testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement efforts.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Occasional physical activity including lifting up to 25 pounds, working in office and site environments, and wearing PPE during site visits.
