Job Description
LaBella Associates is hiring a mid-level Mechanical Engineer for their Energy & Commissioning team in Utah. The role involves leading HVAC and district energy systems design, conducting field investigations, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have 4-8 years of experience, preferably in HVAC and hydronic systems, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. We are currently hiring a mid-level Mechanical Engineer in our Building Engineering Division – Energy & Commissioning team.
LaBella’s Energy & Commissioning team provides comprehensive energy efficiency and renewable energy consultancy, including feasibility analyzes, design, and commissioning services. Our engineers are well-versed in all aspects of building and energy systems design relating to a variety of new construction, renovations, and design/build projects for a variety of clientele.
The Mechanical Engineer will work with our engineers in a lead role on a variety of decarbonization/electrification projects to develop projects in feasibility stages all the way through design and construction. A successful candidate will be able to work well in a team, mentor junior engineers, and communicate effectively with clients.
Duties
Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems
Field investigations to document existing conditions
Selection and calculations for design purposes
Work with Jr Engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation
Interact directly with clients by completing analysis of design options, cost benefit comparisons, and communicating results to assist in decision making process.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements
Requirements
4-8 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
Well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design
Designing geothermal or district energy systems experience preferred
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
New York State Professional Engineer’s license is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Salary range: $80,000.00 - $(phone number removed) per year
