for a
• full-time position in Gold River, BC
. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in fisheries, marine conservation, and project management who is eager to lead marine stewardship initiatives and support sustainable resource management.
As a Marine and Fisheries Project Manager, you will oversee fisheries management, marine conservation initiatives, shellfish programs, and habitat restoration projects. You will collaborate with regulatory agencies, community partners, and technical teams to plan, implement, and manage projects that advance marine stewardship priorities.
• Pay Rate: $80,000 - $90,000 per year (depending on qualifications and experience)
• Location: Gold River, BC
• Schedule: Full-time (Friday afternoons off to support work-life balance)
• Contract: Permanent

• *Responsibilities:
• Lead fisheries and marine conservation projects from planning through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and reporting
• Coordinate field work, monitoring programs, studies, permitting, logistics, and contractor oversight
• Provide operational and technical guidance to staff, consultants, and project partners
• Identify and secure project funding and prepare proposals and supporting documentation
• Develop reports, technical summaries, presentations, and recommendations for leadership and funding partners
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory and stewardship partners including CFIA, WLRS, NSWS, DFO, Parks Canada, and Environment and Climate Change Canada
• Support operational activities related to shellfish farming and other fisheries initiatives
• Review monitoring data, coordinate follow-up actions, and support evidence-based resource management
• Participate in community engagement, knowledge-sharing, and stewardship activities while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards
• Support the advancement of marine stewardship priorities through collaborative initiatives and project leadership
• *Requirements:**
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Fisheries, Environmental Science, Oceanography, Aquaculture, Conservation Biology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Professional certifications such as PMP or RPBio (or eligibility) considered an asset
• Significant experience in marine, fisheries, shellfish, aquaculture, conservation, or Indigenous stewardship programs
• Proven experience managing projects including budgeting, field coordination, funding administration, regulatory compliance, and reporting
• Strong project management, technical writing, grant writing, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working independently and collaboratively
• Strong understanding of fisheries management, aquaculture, habitat restoration, environmental compliance, and coastal field operations
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism
• Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada.
