Cadeler is seeking a Marine Advisor for the USA Offshore Wind Industry in Virginia Beach, VA. The role involves providing operational support and advisory services related to Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV) operations, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and promoting safety and environmental protection. We are now looking for a Marine Advisor to help support Cadeler in the execution of operations support and advisory services to Blue Ocean Energy Marine in relation to Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (“WTIV”) operations.

What will you do?

As our new Marine Advisor, you will be a trusted advisor concerning WTIW operations. You will support the wider Marine Operations team, vessel crew and other relevant Business Units on marine assurance matters and coordinating as required during project preparation and execution. Furthermore, you will support inspections, audits, and assessments to verify that vessels and their operations meet regulatory requirements and industry best practice.

Your main tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Support the Vessel Manager/Supervisor and crews in relation to marine compliance and statutory requirements.
• Provide advice to the organization on matters of compliance and upcoming changes to applicable regulations and industry guidance.
• Develop and maintain the company’s management system and fleet/vessel-specific documentation related to marine operations and fleet emergency preparedness in accordance with statutory requirements and industry guidelines.
• Promotion of maritime safety, compliance, and protection of the environment.
• Assist internal audit processes related to marine, IMO compliance including but not limited to the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, in alignment with the company internal audit process.
• Provide support as required during external audits and inspections, including Class, Flag State Administrations, Port State Control (PSC), clients and other third parties.
• Support marine, HSE, and technical investigations including the development and close out of corrective actions.
• Attend vessel(s) in port and offshore including periods accommodated onboard as required.

We think you will be a good match if you have:
• Relevant training and/or experience in a similar marine operations role
• Knowledge of relevant international maritime codes and requirements (i.e. ISM, MLC, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL)
• Relevant training and/or experience as an internal/lead auditor (preferred)
• Experience in relevant offshore and/or marine operations
• Experience of Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (WTIV)
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
• Proficiency in computer software skills, including MS Office applications.

The position requires a high degree of office and site presence and is hence not a hybrid/remote position.
