Payal is seeking a Manager/Associate Director for ESG & Sustainability in Mumbai/Gurgaon with 6-12 years of experience in sustainability consulting and climate risk advisory. The role involves advising corporates on ESG strategies, conducting research, and developing sustainability reports compliant with global standards. Candidates should have expertise in ESG frameworks and reporting standards. This position requires strong communication skills and may involve travel to client sites.
Manager/Associate Director - ESG & Sustainability- Mumbai/Gurgaon -6-12 Years

We are looking for a seasoned professional with 6-12 years of experience in ESG, sustainability consulting, and climate risk advisory. The ideal candidate should have expertise in sustainability reporting, climate risk strategy, and ESG governance frameworks. Experience working with corporates, consulting firms, or multilaterals like the World Bank, IFC, or GIZ will be an added advantage. A strong understanding of global reporting standards such as GRI, TCFD, SASB, and IFRS

Location: Mumbai/Gurugramis required.

Responsibilities:

1. Advising corporates on sustainability, climate risk, and ESG strategies to facilitate informed business decisions.

2. Conducting in-depth research and analysis on ESG indicators across multiple industries, including power, manufacturing, oil & gas, auto, metals & mining, cement, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

3. Developing sustainability reports in compliance with global standards such as GRI, TCFD, SASB, BRSR, IFRS, and SBTi.

4. Engaging with regulators, policymakers, and industry partners to align ESG initiatives with strategic business goals.

5. Leading business development initiatives, including proposal development and stakeholder engagement.

6. Creating thought leadership through research papers, industry conferences, and expert articles.

7. Traveling to client sites as per project requirements.

Requirements:

1. 6-12 years of experience in sustainability consulting, ESG research, or climate risk advisory.

2. Deep understanding of ESG principles, sustainability frameworks, and climate risk strategies.

3. Experience working with global sustainability reporting standards and ESG governance frameworks.

4. Strong ability to create detailed reports linking ESG indicators with operating and financial metrics.

5. Expertise in ESG integration within supply chains, including the assessment of Tier 1, 2, and 3 suppliers.

6. Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

7. Postgraduate degree in sustainability or a related field.
