Join Our Team:
The Manager of Technical Accounting will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting. This position requires extensive experience in technical accounting, a strong understanding of US GAAP, and the ability to effectively communicate complex accounting matters to various stakeholders.
This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Accounting and Reporting and is based in Los Angeles, CA. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, develop your skills, and contribute to our mission of revolutionizing the fashion industry.
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Accounting Leadership: Lead the technical accounting function by researching, interpreting, and implementing new accounting standards and regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial statements and disclosures.
• Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Advisory Role: Act as a key advisor to the finance team and other departments on technical accounting matters.
• Internal Controls: Strengthen and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical accounting matters to senior management, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and developments in accounting standards.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in technical accounting, preferably with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 experience strongly preferred) and industry experience.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
