About the position
The Manager, Purchasing and Sustainability at Penguin Random House plays a crucial role in supporting the Vice President of Corporate Services. This position involves managing purchasing operations, overseeing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring efficient processes within the Corporate Services Department, which supports over 300 publishing imprints. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Manage pantry inventory and appliance orders for the headquarters office.

• Create purchase order numbers and place vendor orders for the mailroom and facilities department.

• Allocate cost center codes for Autofleet claims and expenses.
,
• Provide backup support for the purchasing department inbox and Staples account.
,
• Track copier lease billing and fleet copier contract maintenance.
,
• Conduct monthly reporting for variance analysis of the Corporate Services cost center.
,
• Act as the point person for ESG and Green Committee initiatives.
,
• Manage carbon audit data collection and annual reporting.
Requirements
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, purchasing, analysis, and accounting management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

• Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.

• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
• SAP experience preferred.
