Job Description

Henkel is seeking a Manager for GHG Methods & Accounting in Germany. The role involves collecting and analyzing climate data, ensuring compliance with reporting standards, and developing internal controls for GHG reporting. Candidates should have a Master's in Sustainability or related fields, expertise in Corporate Carbon Accounting, and experience with climate reporting frameworks. The position offers a flexible work scheme, including remote work options for up to 30 days per year.
What you´ll do
• Collect and collate Climate (Scope 3) relevant data, conduct checks and aggregate Key Performance Indicators and CO2e-data, according to regulations/standards and internal Henkel policies
• Provide feedback & enable data owners on data accuracy, completeness, and quality by creating awareness and direction
• Define and document standardized calculation methodologies and data requirements for sustainability metrics in relevant area of expertise, ensuring compliance with international accounting & reporting standards as well as Henkel internal strategy and controlling mechanism
• Prepare, conduct and support assurance activities with internal- and external stakeholders for Scope 3 accounting especially for CSRD compliance under limited assurance
• Development of internal control mechanisms for ensuring future-proof (reasonable assurance) of Henkel’s GHG reporting
• Advocacy in external initiatives, associations and internal gremia that focus on relevant GHG topics in order to drive Henkel interests, shape reporting standards, and gather scientific insides
• Provide subject matter expertise for the development of GHG automation- and visualization tools
• Support transversal projects and duties in the field of Environmental Data

What makes you a good fit
• Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science or related field
• Expertise in Corporate Carbon Accounting, including GHG relevant accounting- and reporting standards (GHG protocol, Scope 3)
• Experience with climate related reporting and awareness of external reporting frameworks (e.g. CSRD & ESRS, EU Taxonomy is a plus)
• Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated resilience in handling high-pressure situations and adapting to rapidly changing environments
• A strong multi-tasker-capable of planning, organizing details while communicating effectively on all levels within the organization
• Business Proficiency in English, German is a plus
