Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a Manager: Environmental Services in Johannesburg, South Africa. Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in Environmental Management, at least eight years of relevant experience, and skills in project management and team leadership. Responsibilities include managing environmental assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation, and overseeing departmental services. Minimum requirements:
- Post graduate degree in Environmental Management or similar.
- Project Management Certificate would be beneficial.
- Eight or more years’ experience in the relevant field, preferably within the consulting environment would be beneficial.
- At least five years conducting specialist studies.
- At least five years working in the resources industry.
- Two or more years’ experience managing a small team would be beneficial.
- Two or more years’ experience project managing international Environmental and/or Social projects.
- Professional registration would be beneficial.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Effectively project manage the environmental legislative processes and Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) applicable to the relevant country.
- Maintain an awareness of country applicable legislation and the potential impact to the various projects.
- Work in close collaboration with specialists from other disciplines.
- Carry out field work under strenuous conditions.
- Liaise with clients and authorities.
- Compile and write reports for submission to the client and necessary authorities.
- Ensure the team maintains a high-quality standard in the services provided and, in the deliverables, produced.
- Continuously improve and develop the services offered within the department.
