Position Summary

McCormick Taylor is seeking a Manager of Environmental Services to join our Energy/Utilities group. The successful candidate will perform the role of a Manager of our growing group. We are seeking an individual who can lead multiple teams, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid office environment. Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required. Previous experience collaborating with team members virtually is preferred. Note that this position is primarily remote, but the candidate will be expected to report to McCormick Taylor's office on an occasional basis in one of the following locations: Baltimore, MD; Newark, DE; Philadelphia, PA; Exton, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Harrisburg, PA; Glen Allen, VA; Raleigh, NC; Charleston, SC; Columbia SC; Salisbury, MD; or Mount Laurel, NJ.

The candidate will be responsible for leading environmental analysis, permitting and siting for energy clients. Role would entail leading project teams in support of obtaining the local, state and federal approvals for energy clients. Experience leading teams providing resource assessments and other environmental documentation (state and federal) for projects. Experience with Energy Utilities, environmental studies/analysis, and local permitting (VA/MD/DE/NJ/PA) is preferred. Experience providing oversight of construction projects is not required but preferred. Experience with client interactions, marketing and business development is preferred.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities
• Lead Project Managers and their teams in the successful execution of project assignments
• Coordinates and assists with all staff necessary to complete assignments
• Lead staff in the development and implementation of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Work with PMs and Sr. Staff on principles and practices in specific areas of their assignments and fields
• Client and Agency Coordination
• Oversee Project teams conducting resource assessment, including field work, data collection, and report development.
• Oversee Project Teams conducting local, state and federal permitting efforts for various infrastructure project types
• Oversee Project Teams conducting site development design plan review, including constructability, and design coordination
• Oversee Project Teams developing plans, permits, procedures and reports for hazardous waste, storm water, spill prevention, NPDES, and wastewater programs.
• Oversee Project Teams conducting environmental compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Oversee Project Teams conducting the field oversight of construction projects to ensure compliance with approved engineering plan documents
• Represents the organization in communication and conferences pertaining to specific aspects of projects or programs
• Responsible for technical accuracy and QA/QC of work Acts as a technical specialist or advisor to Senior Project Managers and Directors
• Fully versed in permitting and regulatory protocols; provides regulatory program support to clients independently
• Travel for project and client meetings.
• Leads marketing activities and technical proposal writing
• Lead and oversee the implementation of the technical aspects of a team
• Mentors Project Managers and Senior Staff
• Lead the development of backlog projections and workload for staff

Qualifications
• BS Environmental Science or BS-Civil/Environmental Engineering (Civil - Water Resource, Geotechnical or Environmental emphasis preferred) and 10 to 15 years of experience, preferred, MS not required but preferred
• Expertise in environmental regulations, and extensive knowledge of State specific requirements/regulation (NJ/PA/MD/DE/VA)
• Excellent communications skills and technical writing skills are a must
• Management of construction oversight and/or inspection experience is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite plus have working knowledge of CADD and/or GIS
• Enthusiastic and dependable leader with a passion for growth
• Strong understanding of local, state and federal regulations as it applies to area of expertise
• Expertise in project management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Has experience working directly with clients and developing client relationships
• Experience in invoicing, status reports, accounts receivable, and related accounting needs
• Experience in contract management
