About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for self-motivated & dynamic individual to join the team at Transgrid in an incredible role as a Manager of Energy Market Analysis.

This is a newly established role, and team so is an opportunity for the right person to come in and play a major role in establishing and leading this new electricity market modelling function. This role provides strategic advice on energy market trends and supports the development of electricity transmission projects that will facilitate the transition to renewable energy in NSW.

You will have a deep understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and relevant regulatory and policy frameworks coupled with extensive experience in electricity market modelling. Demonstrated leadership skills in complex stakeholder environments is essential as with your exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will build strong partnerships across the organisation and build credibility quickly with your stakeholders

You will lead a team that builds and utilises wholesale electricity market simulations to produce high-quality techno-economic analysis, reports and strategic insights.

This is the perfect role for someone who is highly technical coupled with exceptional stakeholder skills and leadership capability.

The Value You Will Bring To The Team
• Expert understanding of the National Electricity Market (and related energy and commodity markets) including market structures, industry norms, participants, stakeholders, and policy and regulatory frameworks.
• Extensive experience in energy market modelling using a market simulation platform, used for energy investment planning and/or power systems engineering.
• Advanced analytical skill set and experience developing complex data models, algorithms and advanced statistical techniques (PLEXOS, Python, R, SQL, Power BI, etc.)
• Proven capacity to make effective commercial and strategic decisions aligned with defined corporate objectives, gained in a sophisticated multi-stakeholder environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, and experience working with senior stakeholders including Executives and Board
