Job Description

The San Diego Foundation seeks a Compliance & Finance Manager for government climate projects. About the position

The Compliance & Finance Manager at San Diego Foundation will oversee government climate projects, focusing on grant administration, financial reporting, and compliance. This role is essential in managing the RICCE project, which aims to improve the quality of life in underinvested communities through significant grant funding. The position requires a commitment to supporting community partners and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while working in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities
• Manage all operational and administrative aspects of government grants.

• Oversee government grant funds, including reimbursements and compliance reporting.

• Coordinate with internal financial, grants, and compliance teams throughout the grant term.

• Develop and maintain an electronic filing system for grant documents.
,
• Train partners on invoicing and reporting procedures.
,
• Manage all receivables and payables for government grants.
,
• Prepare and submit payment requests, ensuring compliance with grant eligibility requirements.
,
• Track all reporting deadlines and ensure partners meet them.
,
• Monitor and report on grant deliverables and outcomes.
,
• Ensure compliance with federal and state requirements for all grants.

Requirements
• 3 years of experience administering government grants, including payment requests and compliance reporting.

• 5 years of relevant experience in a foundation or nonprofit organization.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and timeliness.
,
• Experience with budgeting and monitoring state and federal funding programs.
,
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Effective communication skills with diverse partners.
,
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization software.

Nice-to-haves
• Bilingual in Spanish
