Drive the Future of Carbon Storage—From the Land Up

Are you a dealmaker in the CCS world ready to be on the landowner’s side of the table? Step into a role where you’re not chasing acreage — you’re unlocking it. Rayonier controls over 2 million U.S. acres, giving you direct access to some of the most strategic subsurface real estate in the Southeast.
Why This Role Is Different

We Own the Land – That Means Control, Speed, and Strategic Access. You’ll work from a unique platform — one where permitting, site control, and long-term alignment are already baked in. No middlemen. No speculation. Just real deals on real land.

Big Goals, Real Backing – This isn’t an exploratory role. We’re well-funded, fully committed, and actively growing our CCS portfolio.

Live Where Others Vacation – Our HQ in Wildlight, Florida offers coastal living with world-class schools, nature, and lifestyle perks — or you can stay based in Texas with regular travel.

High Visibility, High Impact – Report directly to the VP and help shape one of the most strategic initiatives at Rayonier.
What You’ll Do

Originate CCS Opportunities – Identify and evaluate partners ranging from nimble startups to global strategics. Use your industry knowledge to pursue projects with strong geological and commercial fundamentals.

Negotiate Land Access & Deal Terms – Lead discussions and deal structuring for subsurface lease agreements. Represent Rayonier in front of developers, attorneys, and technical consultants.

Build & Maintain Industry Relationships – Develop and manage partnerships across the CCS ecosystem — including project developers, government agencies, geotechnical consultants, and legal advisors.

Track Policy & Permitting – Stay current on evolving CCS regulations, pore space ownership, and permitting timelines — and use that insight to inform business strategy.

Support Broader Mineral Development – When bandwidth allows, assist with leases and negotiations in traditional minerals (e.g., O&G, aggregates, mineral sands).
Who We’re Looking For

Experience Level: Ideally 7–15 years in O&G, CCS, or minerals — but open to a rising star with at least 3 years of direct CCS deal experience.

Industry Expertise: Deep familiarity with CCS project development, subsurface leasing, and U.S. land ownership issues.

Skills & Traits:
- Proven closer with strong commercial instincts
- Comfortable drafting terms sheets and leading negotiations
- Land background or minerals/oil & gas leasing experience strongly preferred
- Self-directed, driven, and able to manage consultants and external partners

Education: Degree in Petroleum Land Management, Geology, Engineering, Business, or related field
Success Looks Like:

- Support operator success on 154K acres under CCS lease and grow lease acreage

- Build a qualified, progressing CCS pipeline that turns ideas into signed deals
- Maintain a reputation as a fair, sophisticated counterparty among operators
Ready to Be the Landowner at the Table?

Submit your resume and a short cover letter outlining your CCS experience and why this role is the right next step for you.
