Covenant House Alaska is seeking a Major Gifts & Sustainability Officer in Anchorage, AK. About the position

The Major Gifts & Sustainability Officer at Covenant House Alaska is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, with a focus on direct mail donors and planned giving. This role also involves co-managing the annual Sleep-Out event to engage donors and enhance the organization's reputation and financial performance in the mission to end youth homelessness. The officer will collaborate with the Development Team and work closely with Covenant House International's Development Team.

Responsibilities
• Develop strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

• Co-manage the annual Sleep-Out event with the Communications & Sustainability Officer.
,
• Oversee a portfolio of 150-200 donors and prospects.
,
• Create and execute a plan for donor cultivation and stewardship based on annual KPIs.
,
• Build and maintain relationships with donors for estate planning and contributions.
,
• Ensure donor information is accurately recorded in CHA's and CHI's databases.
,
• Attend community and CHA events outside of regular business hours.
,
• Participate in departmental portfolio review processes and maintain organized donor stewardship records.
,
• Provide special event support and assist during events from start to finish.
,
• Identify ways to increase donor involvement in visits, meetings, and events.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in communications, commerce, marketing, administration or related areas.
,
• Minimum three years of fundraising or sales experience with a proven track record of raising major gift funds.
,
• Strong ability to relate effectively with diverse staff, youth, and community agencies.
,
• Outstanding oral and verbal communication skills with relationship building capabilities.
,
• Ability to navigate and manage multiple projects consistently.
,
• Possess a current Driving License and maintain a clean driving record.
,
• Pass federal, state, and local background investigations.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with software products including Microsoft Office Suite, Raiser's Edge, DonorDrive, SharePoint, and Every Action.
