About the position
As a Maintenance Technician at GE Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in sustaining a robust preventive maintenance program at our Vandalia facility. This facility, rich in history and located just north of Dayton, specializes in manufacturing and servicing advanced power generation and electrical control equipment for military and commercial customers. Your work will directly contribute to the production of advanced jet engines and components that power aircraft, impacting the lives of millions around the world. In this position, you will be responsible for inspecting equipment for proper functioning and performing preventative maintenance duties according to the manufacturer's specifications. You will diagnose equipment malfunctions, make necessary repairs or adjustments, and utilize Maximo software for preventative maintenance on production equipment. Your role will also involve performing breakdown analysis, general housekeeping, and upgrading production lines with new equipment and technology. You will work independently under limited supervision, documenting your work schedule and tasks completed while ensuring compliance with GMP, safety, and audit standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be expected to bring energy, passion, and a sense of personal responsibility to the role, contributing positively to the shop atmosphere while maintaining high-quality work output.
Responsibilities
• Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.

• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed.
,
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment using Maximo software.
,
• Repair all production equipment as needed.
,
• Perform breakdown analysis.
,
• Perform general housekeeping.
,
• Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology.
,
• Work with outside contractors working on assigned line.
,
• Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
,
• Work independently under limited supervision (self-management).
,
• Document work schedule and work tasks completed.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED
,
• 3+ Years Industrial Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Experience including troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, mechanical systems, drive components, pumps, and electrical systems from 480v 3 phase to 24v control.
Nice-to-haves
• Adhere to all ISO Quality Standards

• Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc.

• Professional technical training or certificate program in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field.

• Pneumatics/air compression knowledge
,
• Preventative maintenance experience with computerized preventative charts/data
,
• Ability to read schematics and product manuals
,
• Reading mechanical drawings including mechanical, electrical, hydraulics & pneumatics
,
• HVAC systems knowledge
,
• Material fabrication and welding skills
,
• Basic rigging knowledge
,
• Knowledge of SERVO systems
,
• Forklift and manlift experience.
Benefits
• Pay starts at $25.00 per hour
,
• 2nd Shift hours are 2pm - 10:30pm with a 6% shift differential.
