Job Description

The Commonwealth of PA is hiring a Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Conservation Leadership Training Center in Pennsylvania. This full-time position involves skilled maintenance and repair tasks in various trades, including building, electrical, and plumbing. Responsibilities include overseeing projects, obtaining quotes, and guiding team members. The role requires a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License and does not offer telework options.
THE POSITION

Are you experienced in maintenance and enjoy hands-on work in an outdoor setting? The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairman 2 to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will perform journey-level tasks across multiple trades, contributing to the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position entails performing advanced, skilled work across multiple trades for the maintenance, repair, and construction of facility buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds. You will carry out proficient journey-level tasks in areas such as building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and masonry, playing a key role in maintaining and improving facility infrastructure. Under the direction of a supervisor, you will also be responsible for obtaining price quotes from vendors, calculating the costs of supplies and equipment, estimating labor hours for task completion, and preparing necessary documentation for supervisor review and approval. In addition, you will take on a leadership role, guiding semi-skilled laborers, laborers, and other team members throughout project execution.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
• Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will be required to work weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• This position is assigned to the Conservation Leadership Training Center located at 85 Youth Forestry Lane, White Haven PA.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:
• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Other Requirements:
• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
