Job Description

Smart4Energy is seeking a Maintenance Manager for a 35 MW geothermal power plant in Nakuru County, Kenya. The role involves overseeing maintenance operations, managing the maintenance team, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Key responsibilities include developing maintenance programs, managing inventory, and preparing budgets. Candidates should have a degree in Engineering, 10+ years of experience in power plant operations, and strong leadership skills.
We require an experienced and action-orientated Maintenance Manager for a 35 MW geothermal power plant in Nakuru County, Kenya. This pivotal role is responsible for organising, implementing, and overseeing the maintenance of all plant equipment, ensuring maximum availability and reliability. The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance team, manage spare parts and inventory, and establish maintenance policies and procedures in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Manage the maintenance team, including recruitment, training, and development.
• Oversee all spares, tools, equipment, and consumables inventory.
• Ensure compliance with work permit and LOTO procedures.
• Develop and maintain the CMMS
• Manage maintenance contracts with OEMs/Vendors.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
• Plan and execute outages in collaboration with the Operations Manager.

Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering or Diploma holder with significant operational experience in large power stations.
• Registration with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya.
• 10+ years experience in operations of large Power Plants (preferably geothermal).
• Proven understanding of geothermal steam turbine power plants and CMMS systems.
• Strong skills in maintenance planning, policy formulation, and implementation.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
