Job Description

NES Fircroft is hiring a Maintenance Planner Assistant to support a mining maintenance team. This remote role involves scoping maintenance tasks, developing job plans, and coordinating with trades and supervisors. Ideal candidates should have a trade background or maintenance experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with SAP. The position offers a competitive hourly rate, a 6-month contract, and includes accommodations and meals.
NES Fircroft Australia has partnered with a world leader in Mining based in the Northern Territory. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Planning Assistant to support a highly performing site-based maintenance planning team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance or trade experience who is looking to move into a planning support function. Your primary responsibility will be scoping maintenance tasks and preparing detailed job plans for fixed plant assets in a processing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field inspections and scope maintenance work for fixed plant equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance Planners to develop accurate job plans and task lists.
• Assist in identifying parts, tools, and resources required for upcoming work.
• Liaise with trades, supervisors, and reliability teams to ensure maintenance readiness.
• Support the development of shutdown work packs and maintenance schedules.
• Maintain accurate asset information and assist with CMMS data entry and updates.
• Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across maintenance teams.

About You:
• Trade background or prior maintenance experience, preferably in fixed plant or processing operations (e.g., crushers, conveyors, pumps).
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and risk assessments.
• Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with SAP.
• Eagerness to learn and develop planning or technical documentation skills.
