Job Description

The Lighting Channel Manager, Level II at the Center for Energy and Environment in Minneapolis, MN, will drive the adoption of energy-efficient lighting technologies. This hybrid role requires 1-2 days in the office and involves regular travel for meetings and events. The position focuses on strategic partnerships, market engagement, and product training within the energy efficiency sector, contributing to the organization's mission of enhancing energy solutions.
Location


Hybrid– 1-2 days/week in our Minneapolis office.

This position requires regular travel throughout the state for market actor meetings and in-state events along with occasional travel to national conferences.


Join Our Dynamic Market Transformation Team


We are looking for a Lighting Channel Manager, Level II to join our growing Market Transformation team! This role will report to the Senior Manager of Market Deployment. The Market Transformation team is responsible for accelerating the development and adoption of emerging energy efficiency and electrification technologies and practices, bringing them more rapidly to scale. The Lighting Channel Manager, Level II has a strong motivation to work in the energy efficiency field. They will help catalyze luminaire-level lighting control (LLLC) technology in the market to reach aggressive adoption goals. This person is persuasive and skilled at developing strategies and engaging key market actors in collaborating on new ways to increase adoption of energy-efficient LLLCs. They will develop, influence and nurture partnerships, lead collaborative work, drive market engagement strategies, and deliver product training. They will lead national engagement strategies and partnerships and act as a strategic advisor to LLLC initiative and product teams. They also bring a deep and broad network of existing relationships with key distributors, lighting contractors and manufacturer representatives. This position does not have any direct reports.

What You’ll Do


Market Engagement & Relationship Building



Deploy a strategic account management approach with lighting distributors, contractors, designers, and manufacturer representatives, including:

Planning engagement activities
Building and expanding partnerships within the commercial lighting market as well as utility account managers and facilities staff
Participating in industry associations
Providing technical support to market actors in advancing the installation of LLLCs and on field demonstration projects
Collaborate with subcontractors supporting LLLC outreach efforts

Other duties as assigned or apparent

Develop & Deliver Resources and Training



Contribute to resource development strategy in collaboration with LLLC Initiative & partnering teams
Act as a subject matter expert to support educational resources and training curriculum
Deliver training to commercial lighting practitioners

Track Market Trends



Lead industry and national engagement strategies and partnerships to gather market intelligence, technology updates and contribute to program strategy
Act as a strategic advisor to the initiatives and product teams regarding market dynamics, structure, trends, and opportunities

Skills & Knowledge We’re Looking For



Lighting technical expertise with a focus on commercial lighting technology
⁠Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical subject matter
⁠Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience influencing and managing key business relationships in the lighting contractor, distributor and supplier ecosystem
Proficiency in market actor outreach, presentation delivery and meeting facilitation
An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will also be considered




Preferred Qualifications



Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, building science, or a related field
7+ years of technical experience in one of the following areas:

Commercial lighting installer, distributor or manufacturer company
Commercial lighting training or sales in a related industry
Energy-efficiency industry focusing on commercial lighting

Experience working with utility energy efficiency programs
LC, CEM or PMP certification

Compensation


Dependent on qualifications and experience, we expect the pay range upon hire for this position will be $103,000-109,000 per year.
