The Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE) invites ONLINE Applications for the position of “Library and Academy Assistant”. The appointment shall be on a purely temporary basis for one year, and further extension of tenure, if any, may be granted subject to the satisfactory performance of the selected candidate and the requirement of the Institute.

Qualifications

The Library and Information Assistant will support in varies functional Library and Information activities as follows.
• Various library operations such as the acquisition of content both print and digital.
• Classification, Cataloguing & Organization of Information Resources.
• Document Delivery Services, Digital Information Services, Research Support Services.
• The Selected candidate is expected to work in Koha Library Management System and also the digital library platforms such as ePrints and Dspace.

Desirable Qualification
• A bachelor’s degree in any Discipline followed by a Master of Library and Information Science (MSc/MLISc) or its equivalent. The applicants should have secured a minimum of second class or equivalent in the basic academic degree and First Class or equivalent in the professional degree declared by the University.
• Fresher’s are welcome to apply. However, candidates with 1-3 years of experience of professional experience in a Library in CFTI/State/Autonomous or statuary organization/PSU/University or recognized research or educational institutions are desirable.
• Working knowledge of servers such as Debian, Ubuntu, etc,
• Working knowledge of Koha, ePrints and Dspace
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
