This role involves providing legal advice and counsel for company-wide EHS issues, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, advocating for environmental protection, and representing clients in legal proceedings related to environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Research and Analysis:Conduct thorough research on environmental laws, regulations, and case law to provide accurate legal advice.
Compliance:Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Superfund/CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, and other relevant legislation.
Litigation:Represent clients in environmental litigation, including administrative hearings, trials, and appeals.
Permitting and Licensing:Assist clients in obtaining necessary environmental permits and licenses for various projects.
Policy Advocacy:Advocate for environmental policies and regulations that promote sustainability and environmental protection.
Client Representation:Represent clients in negotiations with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders.
Experience:5+ years of either big law or in-house experience in Environmental law.
Industry Experience:Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
Education:JD from accredited law school.
Skills:Experience in both Advice/Counsel & Litigation.
