Job Description

The University of Hawaii System is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Sustainable Community Food Systems for Fall 2025 in Kapolei, HI. Responsibilities include teaching courses, preparing syllabi, and maintaining office hours. Candidates must have a Master's degree and demonstrate teaching effectiveness. The position allows for online and in-person teaching, accommodating various schedules. Salary starts at $1,911 per credit hour, based on qualifications.

Description

Salary Information:
Minimum for Academic Year , $1,911 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Other

Conditions:
• For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
• Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach assigned courses in Sustainable Community Food Systems.
• Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
• Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Work under supervision of division chair in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in discipline area.
• As needed, work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree in relevant discipline for lecturers in Sustainable Community Food Systems.
• Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications
• College teaching experience.
