Job Description

The University of Hawaii is seeking a part-time temporary Lecturer for Sustainable Community Food Systems for Fall 2026 & Spring 2027. The role involves teaching courses online and in-person, maintaining office hours, and preparing course materials. Candidates must have a Master's degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate teaching effectiveness. The position is contingent on funding and staffing needs.

Description




Salary Information: Minimum for Academic Year 2026-2027, $2,053 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.




Other Conditions:



For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.
Must be available to teach courses online and in person, either during the day, evening, or weekend.
Duties and Responsibilities



Teach assigned courses in Sustainable Community Food Systems.
Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
Work under supervision of division chair in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in discipline area.
As needed, work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.
Minimum Qualifications



Master's degree in relevant discipline for lecturers in Sustainable Community Food Systems.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
Desirable Qualifications



College teaching experience.
