Job Description

The University of Vermont is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Geospatial Technologies and Environmental Science for the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. Candidates should have a terminal degree in a related field, experience in student-centered instruction, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. The position aims to enhance diversity and inclusive excellence within the academic community. Applications will be reviewed starting March 15, 2025, with a start date of August 25, 2025.
The Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RSENR) at the University of Vermont (UVM) welcomes applicants for a full-time, 9-month, Lecturer Position in Geospatial Technologies and Environmental Science. RSENR is a cross-disciplinary school, with 5 major programs and 4 minors and over 1100 current undergraduate students. The Environmental Science major is a rapidly growing program, with over 500 students from the UVM campus. The Geospatial Technologies (GST) Minor includes over 150 students from across the UVM campus, with additional offerings available to non-degree GST Certificate students.

We seek a dedicated and inspiring new faculty member with a terminal degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Physical Geography or related field. Successful applicants will have demonstrated excellence in student-centered instruction, providing technical support and mentoring opportunities for students, experience using geospatial techniques for a variety of environmental science applications, and a track record of centering equity and inclusion in their professional activities.
