Employee-owned HDR is currently seeking qualified individuals to provide project, geographic and technical leadership in our growing coastal engineering and restoration program. Our portfolio of award‑winning coastal projects shows the depth and breadth of our team’s expertise across the broader interdisciplinary markets of architecture, federal, transportation, and water resources. Our nationally coordinated, locally delivered coastal engineers are leading the way to solve the nation’s toughest coastal engineering and restoration issues. HDR is ranked #5 in ENR’s 2025 Top Water Design Firm rankings.
We are seeking qualified coastal engineers with the ability to perform analysis and design of coastal restoration projects including marsh restoration and beach nourishment; shoreline protection projects including revetments and breakwaters; and navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harbors. Expertise in creating plans and specifications, as well as project management, is a major plus. We prefer familiarity with wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems.
