Job Description
Pattern Energy is seeking a Lead Wind Technician in Capitan, NM. The role involves leading a team to ensure power generation, maintaining employee relations, providing technical support for wind equipment, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Candidates need electrical or mechanical troubleshooting experience and must reside within 60 miles of the facility. The position requires climbing turbine towers and working in demanding conditions.

Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
The position will lead and develop the team(s) to meet various obligations required for power generation at a Pattern Energy operating site.
Key Accountabilities
Support the Facility Manager in all areas of the Pattern operating Ensure a positive working environment by maintaining discipline, morale, and employee relations.
Lead the use of maintenance documentation, reporting tools, and performance systems necessary for reporting and performance improvement.
Provide hands-on technical support and supervision for Wind generation equipment
and power delivery systems, as well as with other facility civil work, building maintenance, and upkeep.
Enable teammates’ ability and awareness to work safely and stop work as Support driving the injury-free workplace culture by facilitating safe work habits, hazard recognition, risk assessment, peer-to-peer feedback, and proper use of human performance tools.
Manage site-specific and corporate procedures, policies, training programs, and safety programs
and work practices and related updates as required.
Balance and support the facility's public relations and community
Maintain regulatory compliance with all Federal, state, and local regulations and associated permits. Ensure obligations are met using the CMMS.
Qualifications
Required Work Experience
Electrical or Mechanical troubleshooting experience with Power delivery and Wind applications
Proficient with computers and Microsoft
Education
Diploma degree in a technical, business-related field or commensurate
Electrical/Mechanical apprentice or Red Seal
Additional Requirements
Must reside within (< 60 miles) of the facility’s O&M
Ability to climb turbine tower (> 250 feet)
Candidates must be willing and able to work under high workloads in stressful conditions and physically demanding settings while maintaining a professional, non-confrontational demeanor and upholding the highest ethical standards. Examples include, but are not limited to, travel, participation in climbing, exposure to harsh temperatures, extreme driving conditions, various 24/7 working hours, and supporting other business units and locations as needed.
Must have a general understanding of NERC and CIP
The expected starting pay range for this role is 38.00 -47.00 per hour (USD). This range is an estimate; actual base pay may be above or below this range based on various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program features a bonus structure for full-time employees at all levels.
