Job Description

Pattern Energy Group is seeking a Lead Technician for their SunZia North site in Moriarty, NM. The role involves leading a team to ensure efficient power generation, maintaining safety and compliance, and providing technical support for wind generation equipment. Candidates should have relevant troubleshooting experience and reside within 60 miles of the facility. The position requires physical endurance and the ability to manage high workloads in various conditions.

Job Purpose

The position will lead and develop the team(s) to meet various obligations required for power generation at a Pattern Energy operating site.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Support the Facility Manager in all areas of the Pattern operating site. Ensure a positive working environment by maintaining discipline, morale, and employee relations.
• Lead the use of maintenance documentation, reporting tools, and performance systems necessary for reporting and performance improvement.
• Provide hands-on technical support and supervision for Wind generation equipment and power delivery systems, as well as with other facility civil work, building maintenance, and upkeep.
• Enable teammates’ ability and awareness to work safely and stop work as required. Support driving the injury-free workplace culture by facilitating safe work habits, hazard recognition, risk assessment, peer-to-peer feedback, and proper use of human performance tools.
• Manage site-specific and corporate procedures, policies, training programs, safety programs and work practices, and related updates as required.
• Balance and support facility public relations and community interactions.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with all Federal, state, and local regulations and associated.

Required Work Experience
• Electrical or Mechanical trouble shooting experience with Power delivery and Wind applications
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft applications.

Education
• A diploma degree in a technical, business-related field or commensurate experience is required.
• Electrical/Mechanical apprentice or Red seal
Additional Requirements
• * Must reside within 60 miles of the facility’s O&M building.
• Ability to climb turbine towers over 250 feet. • Candidates must be willing and able to handle high workloads in stressful conditions and physically demanding environments while maintaining professionalism and non-confrontational behavior and demonstrating the highest ethical values. Examples include, but are not limited to, traveling, climbing, harsh temperatures, extreme driving conditions, various 24/7 working hours, and providing support to other business units and locations as needed.
• Must have a general understanding of NERC and CIP compliance.
• Ability to climb turbine tower (>250feet)
• Candidates must be willing and able to work with high workloads in stressful conditions and in physically demanding settings while maintaining professional, non-confrontational behavior and demonstrating the utmost ethical values. Examples include, but are not limited to, traveling, participation in climbing, harsh temperatures, extreme driving conditions, various 24/7 working hours, and supporting other business units and locations as needed.
• Must have a general understanding of NERC and CIP compliance.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $41.53 – $ 51.92 per hour (USD). This range is an estimate; actual base pay may be above or below this range based on various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program features a bonus structure for full-time employees at all levels.
