Green Infrastructure Partners is seeking a Lead Planner in Markham, ON. The role involves guiding Operations teams in estimating and planning contracts, mentoring planners, developing project schedules using Primavera P6, and providing scheduling support. Candidates should have 3-8 years of planning/scheduling experience in construction, preferably with MTO projects. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. Travel to job sites in Ontario is required.

Summary Reporting to the Planning Director, the Lead Planner will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the Operations teams in the estimating and planning of various contracts. The lead planner will also coach, mentor and oversee the development of bid, proposal and baseline schedules by the Planning and Scheduling team, offering insights into both scheduling and construction best practices.
Primary Scope Of Role Mentor and coach fellow planner/schedulers in construction scheduling best practices and construction means and methods With the support of the project team, develop and maintain resource‑loaded project schedules for multi‑year projects in Primavera P6 from proposals, contract documents and estimates with attention to details including critical path analysis and constructability. Work closely with the Project Teams to align project baseline schedules with baseline budget for all direct and indirect accounts and activities, identify trends and schedule impacts. Provide planning and scheduling support for various crews/teams by monitoring, reviewing, and analysing the schedule and status during all phases. Monitor and report critical path and schedule performance of the total project. Provide the Project Team with timely, informed, and up‑to‑date project schedule information including trends and forecasts as well as progress, schedule and planning input to the weekly, bi‑weekly and monthly project reports. Identify schedule considerations and problems resulting from interdisciplinary or group restraints and interfaces. Assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule and seek the advice of the Project Manager. Analyze subcontractors’ schedules, while forecasting and trending completion target dates to ensure contractor plans are realistic and achievable. Report deviations accordingly. Develop cash curves based on control estimates and project schedules for cash forecasting. Review or assist in reviewing proposal provisions related to schedule and develop supporting data for contract negotiations. Position Requirements 3‑5 years experience in construction industry for a transit project 3‑8 years in a planner/scheduler role 8 years combined experience in planning/scheduling and highway construction Preference given to experience with MTO projects with civil and structural components Ability to read, understand and interpret drawings and contracts Post‑secondary education would be considered an asset Results‑driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast‑paced environment Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business. Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives. Superb communication and interpersonal skills Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities. Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges. Previous leadership experience would be considered an asset Valid G driver’s license and access to own vehicle. Open to travel to job sites throughout the Province of Ontario. What We Offer Expected Base Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year. The actual base salary will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Annual performance‑based bonus.
