Job Description

Newwestcity is seeking a Lead Climate Action Manager in Burnaby, BC, to drive sustainability initiatives and emissions reduction in the community. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in sustainability, overseeing climate commitments, implementing energy strategies, and engaging stakeholders. Key responsibilities include monitoring climate action progress and leading workshops. A relevant degree and strong skills in data analysis are required. The position offers a salary of CA$80K–CA$100K annually.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the implementation of climate commitments defined in various strategic plans. Bringing 5-10 years of experience in sustainability, you will utilize your expertise to monitor progress, develop innovative energy solutions, and alleviate energy poverty. Your contributions will drive a collective shift towards sustainability and resilience at all organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct operations and programs of the climate action division

• Implement energy efficiency and generation strategies

• Monitor progress on climate action initiatives

• Supervise community greenhouse gas inventories

• Lead workshops on sustainability initiatives

Requirements:

• Degree in climate change or related field

• 5-10 years in sustainability roles, including management

• Experience with energy and emissions strategies

• Strong knowledge of climate equity and energy management

• Advanced skills in data analysis and Microsoft Office
